Our Breeding Practices
Why a Crossing Borders Puppy is the Right Choice for You
A home-based ethical micro breeder of Bordoodles is a great choice for those looking to buy a puppy. These breeders typically have a small number of dogs and breed them in a home environment. This allows them to provide the puppies with plenty of socialization and individual attention, which helps them to become well-adjusted and confident adult dogs.
Furthermore, a responsible micro breeder possesses in-depth knowledge about the breed, capable of offering insights into the breed's distinct characteristics and addressing any inquiries you might have. Their dedication to the breed is evident in the meticulous care provided to both the puppies and breeding dogs, ensuring their well-being and happiness. Additionally, they prioritize genetic testing to prevent potential health issues in the future. Opting for such ethical micro breeders stands as a superior alternative to purchasing from extensive commercial breeding operations, where profit often takes precedence over the dogs' welfare.
Moreover, they exhibit responsibility in the breeding procedure, striving for the enhancement of the breed rather than merely aiming for sales. This entails meticulous parent selection, ensuring adherence to breed standards, possessing a positive temperament, and being devoid of any known genetic health issues. Furthermore, their commitment extends to the careful pairing of puppies with suitable families, likely incorporating an adoption process. A follow-up period is typically in place to ensure the satisfaction of the new family with their choice and to monitor the puppy's smooth adjustment to its new home.

Our puppies are raised both indoors and outdoors, and are socialized with other dogs and animals on our property and of course with other adults, children and visitors. Once our pups are vaccinated at 6 weeks, we take our pups on car rides and walks around the property. All of our pups are Early Neurological Stimulated (ENS), and desensitized to noise and motion including a variety of noises like TVs, music, vacuum cleaner, lawn mowers, cars, adults conversing and kids playing. We do a little bit of toilet training, crate training and use of the collar and harness to get pups accustomed to the process, and this just needs to be continued when a puppy is taken to his/her forever home. We set up obstacle courses with tunnels and stairs so they learn to follow simple agility commands in case that is the way you’d like to go. Some of our dogs have gone to homes as therapy dogs and especially for those with allergies. I love it when the puppies sit before being fed and learn to high 5 for treats.

Our dogs are fully DNA profiled and screened for conditions that might affect them, and we regularly have our sires and bitches checked at our local vet. Pups are checked at 6 weeks, vaccinated and microchipped as well as wormed at 2, 4, 6 and 8 week intervals.
All of our pups get a fit to fly/travel certificate if they need to travel long distances via road or air. If you live far away or interstate and require a pup to be shipped via road or air, please disclose this on your application. Short car trips home is most suitable for young puppies, so please let me know if you live interstate as I may know of another bordoodle breeder that I can recommend closer to you.
